FBLA Back in Action This Autumn

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) has had a great track record in our school history. They sent over 80 of their members to states last April. This being said, they have no intentions of stopping. Led by advisors Ms. Danzeisen and Mrs. Palumbo, FBLA has already hit the ground running with planning their typical fall festivities.

However, before we get into these festivities, the FBLA officers have already attended the Regional State Workshop which was held at East Stroudsburg University on October 3rd. Palmerton sent 15 of their members to this event. There, they participated in a business pitch competition called Made in the Poconos. Each school in attendance was asked to come up with a business idea and pitch it to the judges. Our Palmerton attendees came up with the company “Unitem,” a business that would help immigrant children in the United States have a smooth transition into our culture and language. Palmerton impressed the judges with this idea and placed third overall in this competition. These members returned (unfortunately) without the trophy, but with a lot of knowledge gained and a positive attitude to begin planning future events.

FBLA is once again holding their annual Fall Festival, which is going to be held on October 25 in the library. This event is held in an attempt to raise money for the club to help lessen the costs of states for the members who qualify to attend. This event is open to any student who would like to attend and only costs $5 to participate. At the Fall Festival, there will be a table with baked goods, apple cider, hot chocolate and other fall goodies. In addition to this, there will also be Halloween themed games available to play.

In addition to the Fall Festival, they will also have their Safe Trick or Treat night. This will be held on October 26, and will be a way for the children to have a safe experience of getting candy. All the classroom doors are to be decorated by their 3rd block class for this event. FBLA members will be dressing up to hand out candy, play games with kids, and even do arts and crafts and face painting. This will be a great way for the club to give back to the community.

If you see any FBLA members, wish them good luck as they prepare for these events as well as their tests and presentations! 
